Gravity Works – Retail Shop

“The sun never knew how great it was until it hit the side of a building.”

Louis Kahn (1901-74)

Gravity Works is a retail shop on main street which includes a climbing wall, and private gym. This commercial project was hatched in January 2010, and completed with the door opening for business by Thanksgiving 2010. The fast track project included the real estate transaction, HARC approvals, code review, construction documents, bidding, and all construction administration. We also obtained HARC approvals for Phase 2 which includes a roof top deck and restaurant.

Details abound in this space. Many custom mill-work and steel details were created for the cabinets, stairs, changing rooms, offices, and storage spaces. A lot of thought went into the project, including the oversized foundation to accommodate Phase 2. Gravity Works also included an elaborate mechanical and electrical system to provide a comfortable interior space.
TruLinea was really proud to transform a run-down old building and create vitality on the East end of the town of Telluride.

Sincerely, Luke Trujillo AIA
